Chillin Out in July

June!

 Shoppe Gal Miranda here excited that June is here! June is such an exciting month if you love summer, since it begins just a few weeks into the month. I love going to the beach over summer break. I am super excited about this June because I finally graduate high school. 

June is also super fun for clothes shopping because you can really get into brighter colors and white. The shoppe is full of fun colors, it is a real change of pace from winter. So fun to get to dress for warmer weather with tank tops and shorts. Hair up more often means always having earrings in which is also super fun to shop for too.

Hello April!!

 

Hi all!  Shoppe Gal Cecile here.  It’s finally Spring and all I can think about is warm sunshine, porch sitting, flip flops, and comfy T-shirts.  Going out to eat….outside, craft shows, concerts and vacations.  So thankful we are able to get back outside. 

Our shoppe is so blessed to have so many amazing supporters, local and distant, to keep us going and I hope our shoppe helped you keep going as well. We are on the other side and ready to PARTY!! 🎉

Hello April!!

 

Happy February!  Shoppe Gal™ Katie here.  We hope everything had a great January!   February is one of our favorite months here in the shoppe.   It's the month of love and what better way to show you love your gal pals, than to celebrate Galentine's Day together!

Finally March

Hey Shoppers! It's finally March and i'm so excited! March is one of my favorite months because the weather gets so nice, which means summer is around the corner, and you can feel that everyone get happier. You also can't forget that all the flowers start to bloom and they get so pretty!

Last March was a little interesting and crazy and lets hope we have luck on our side this March! Speaking of luck, in March we have Saint Patrick's Day! Saint Patrick's Day is such an easy going and cute holiday. It's so fun to dress up in green and gold and see little leprechauns everywhere! Green is my favorite color so it's never hard to find something to wear. If you need something green to wear, we have the cutest green tops like the Meant To Be Mine Hoodie Sweater and the Scallop Me Around Sweater, which are both displayed in our window right now!

Spring always has the most beautiful weather in North Carolina. With the weather getting nicer and nicer everyday, it's the perfect opportunity to take a walk around Downtown Apex and come visit us at The Doodling Bug®! Cant wait to see you!

Finally March

Happy November!   Shoppe Gal Katie here!   Us Shoppe Gals at The Doodling Bug hope that you are happy and well.   It has definitely been a trying time with Covid-19 but we have so much to be thankful for!   We are thankful for each and everyone of you!

Falling into Fall

Why, hello there!    Shoppe Gal Katie here!   Happy September!  This is my favorite month of the year!   Not only is it the start of the fall season, but it's my BIRTHDAY month too!!!

If you have been into the shoppe lately, you have noticed that we are transitioning into Fall with long sleeve shirts and pull-overs.  I love me a good long sleeve shirt!  And you better believe that I have already purchased one of our new cute ones in the shoppe!  Here are a few of my favorites! 

My year-round school kids are tracked out this month, so I am only in the shoppe 1 day during September, but I do hope that you have a FABULOUS month!

Falling into Fall

Happy Summer, from Shoppe Gal Kathleen!

Happy Summer, Glitter Bugs! I hope that everyone is enjoying their Summer. I know it has been a hot one, but we will survive! Haha!! Especially when we have pools to play in, lakes to cool off while floating and boating and our beautiful beaches to visit. Well, you have to admit, a little AC doesn't hurt either.  ;)

The shoppe has been so fun this Summer. We have revamped the sales floor several times with all of our new pretties that we get each week. I can't wait for you all to see it, if you haven't already. It seems to be just sparkling more than ever!

We have been serving free lemonade to our customers all Summer. Especially on those hot days when you have friends and family in town and are showing them our wonderful Historic Downtown Apex. It's so great when you stop in, do a little shopping, have some cool lemonade and we get to chat for a little while. It really makes my day!

I have met so many wonderful customers this summer from all over the world. I love hearing your stories and learning about where you are from while you pin our "Where are y'all visiting from?" map. The pins are getting more and more abundant each week. It's super cool to see them all shine.

I know this sounds crazy, but towards the end of last month we even started putting out our Fall products. They are selling like hotcakes. I know, I know, you don't want to think about the cool Fall weather yet, but it's upon us and it's never too early to prepare and pick up something that catches your eye instead of later when it may be gone. I know I do it. If I have to have it, then it's a done deal. I know most of you feel the same.

Holidays In The Shoppe

What an amazing holiday season it has been at The Doodling Bug. The Shoppe Gals all buzzing around putting glitter and shine all around the shoppe. Hauling Christmas trees out of our shed. Gathering all of our Christmas decorations to delight every taste.

Christmas is over, but we are still playing our fun Christmas music on the speaker. Everyone coming in is dancing and singing. It's so wonderful! We just don't want it to end.

Did you know that we offer 30% off on all of our Christmas related items in the shoppe starting the day after Christmas? Well, we do!! Even my favorite top is on discount. (I got lucky and my Husband surprised me with one for Christmas. Yay!) I think that we secretly do it, because we don't want to stop seeing all of your friendly faces during the holiday break. We want to see those smiles and your excitement when you come in and pick up the little things that you really wanted, but didn't buy for yourself for Christmas.

Holidays In The Shoppe

Oh What fun, The Christmas Parade!

Wow, last night was spectacular! It was my first Apex Christmas Parade with The Shoppe Gals. It was so much fun! I think that I just need to show you how wonderful it was!

We are piling into the cutest pink VW Bug ever!

We did our best to stay dry. Our wonderful shoppe Owner, Julie, was prepared as usual... gloves, rain ponchos, umbrellas, snacks and drinks. She is just so wonderful and we all appreciate her so much.

Oh What fun, The Christmas Parade!

Summertime Wishes and Pineapple Dreams

I don't know about y'all, but as much as I love playing in the snow, my heart is always poolside, in the shade of some palm trees with a fruity drink in my hand. This time of year especially tests my patience, because we know sunshine and warm weather are on the way, but we keep getting these frozen tundra weeks just as we start to socially accept flip flops, because, honestly, flip flops are year-round, all-occasion footwear in my world (Hi Florida peeps!).

So, I wanted to take a minute and take us all on a little trip away from the chilly weather and give us a taste of summer featuring my favorite summertime icon: the almighty pineapple. I actually researched why the pineapple is such a symbol of hospitality. Fascinating stuff! They used to rent out pineapples for parties?!?! And by research, I mean reading this Southern Living article on the subject.

So, around the shoppe, seeing that we're always hospitable, we're a little crazy for this symbol of hospitality and fun. Here are some of my favorites:

First and foremost is this gorgeous pineapple beach throw, which I think would also make a fantastic layered tablecloth at a summer party. I love that pom pom trim!

Another favorite are these super cute tote bags because we all need a good tote bag for our daily stuff or for trips to the farmer's market. Not to mention all the awesome art shows coming up!

What about date night? Oh, yes, we have pineapple love for that. Check out these earrings! Love these.

But I have to say, my absolute favorite pineapple piece at the shoppe are our Pineapple Paradise jar candles. In fact, you'll often find me near them when I'm in the shoppe. They truly smell like paradise. And they smell like my childhood. Growing up in Puerto Rico, we always had fresh pineapple around. And the pineapples that grow there are tiny and super sweet. And that's what these smell like - super ripe, juicy pineapples that remind me of sunshine-filled days splashing in a pool without a care in the world.

And that's my trip to paradise for the day.

Summertime Wishes and Pineapple Dreams

ROYGBIV Is there any other way to organize Vinyl?

Hi y'all! Shoppe Gal Michelle here with some OCD organizational goodness! Julie sent me a text saying "I have stuff from IKEA in the back and I need you to set them up hold all of the rolls of vinyl." Well my little OCD heart skipped a beat with the thought of ORGANIZATION! Then she sent the picture of what she wanted from where else, but PINTEREST!!! *SWOON* Please tell me I'm not the only one that gets excited about this sort of thing!?

I went to work assembling the Ikea® VARIERA white bag holder (um are these things seriously only $1.99)!? After assembly, I went to the dreaded Vinyl drawer to get a handle on what I was really dealing with...

Y'all this was drawer 1 of 3!! SCARY!!!

Ok, on to hanging the Bag Holders Vinyl Holders. We started with just the adhesive backing but TONS of Vinyl is heavy, and we are in an OLD BUILDING with crappy walls (don't judge!). So, we did have to go back and add some heavy duty Command® Hooks to the hook hanging holes at the top. 

After letting the adhesive acclimate for a few hours I put the vinyl in their new happy hole homes! Of course there was no better way then to use good ole' ROY-G-BIV when deciding on an order to place them. I love how this turned out! 

We all love that we can easily see and grab the vinyl colors we need for store projects and items and the fact that we have 3 drawers to SHOVE other things in! I'd love to hear about any of your CHEAP organizational hacks!
