    What a beautiful month it is! Spring is in full swing, and Summer is well on its way. We can't wait to see what fun May has in store for Downtown Apex.

Apex Peakfest went off with a lot of pink! The Doodling Bug rolls out all the flamingos for this event, and we mean ALL. Shoppe is covered top to bottom with our Flamingo Floating Coasters. At only $3, it is a must for all pool parties. 

May also brought some new faces to the Shoppe as well as some older ones!

Meet Olivia: Hi! My name is Olivia. I am a senior in high school about to graduate and go to nursing school at Seattle University. I am originally from Spain and I was born at the beach, so I love the ocean. I love dressing cute for every occasion. I'm so excited to be a new Shoppe Gal!

Shoppe Manager Caley is back! Summer break is coming up and with that comes back all our seasonal Gals. We are excited to have them back. Keep an eye out for them and be sure to say hi!

An Exciting April

 

    You know what they say, "April showers bring...." well, lots of fun stuff!

    The Doodling Bug is kicking off April right! We have all new products, all new Shoppe Gals, and participating in lots of Downtown Apex Events. We are excited to have ya'll be a part of this spring as we head into warmer weather together.

First and foremost, lets here it for our new Shoppe Gals! *drumroll* 

Meet Kristen! She is in school for her degree in Library Sciences and is from Apex! She knows all the good spots so feel free to ask her any questions about the area! 

Next up, meet Autumn! She is coming to us from Florida and has extensive background in retail and operations. She has a passion for fashion and loves to show off our cute outfits at The Doodling Bug 😎🐛

Be sure to stop by and say hello to these new, beautiful faces as you will be seeing them around the shoppe!

We are also partaking in a lot of the Downtown Apex festivities this month! 

The Peak Pig Festival is on! Starting Friday, April 14th from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM &

Saturday, April 15th from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM

Downtown Apex's second Boutique Craw is happening April 21stl! Grab your besties and save the date for a Boutique Crawl! Join us for a fun night of shopping downtown Apex!

Downtown Apex Earth Fest- Saturday, April 22nd from noon till 4:00 PM. Apex EarthFest is an engaging, interactive festival offering ways to learn about, participate in, and celebrate our planet. Downtown Apex will be filled with local vendors and food trucks. Will also be hosting Earth Expo by local students, live music, and of course, fabulous finds at The Doodling Bug!

With all the excitement downtown, us Shoppe Gals at The Doodling Bug are super thrilled to get spring rolling! Trying on all the new gingham dresses, our brand-new floral earrings, and our super cute llama slippers (who doesn't need a pair of those??).

An Exciting April

It's The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year!

How is it December already?!   It is truly the best time of the year!   It's a time for giving.  We have lots of gift ideas in the shoppe that would be perfect for your bestie, your mom, you sister and even great stocking stuffers for teens!  Be sure to come check them out!

Did you go to the Apex Christmas Parade?  Did you see us?   We were in the pink VW Bug with the giant lit wreath on the back and we had the Grinch riding around us on a pink tricycle!  It was hilarious.   All of us Shoppe Gals and our wonderful owner, Julie all piled into the bug!   So much fun!

Wow! July has flown by!

 Wow!  July has flown by, especially at The Doodling Bug!  Have you been in the shoppe lately?   

July has been filled with fun and excitement!   We celebrated the 4th of July by being open during the annual Old Fashioned 4th of July parade!   And this upcoming weekend is the Pig Fest!

Wow! July has flown by!

June!

 Shoppe Gal Miranda here excited that June is here! June is such an exciting month if you love summer, since it begins just a few weeks into the month. I love going to the beach over summer break. I am super excited about this June because I finally graduate high school. 

June is also super fun for clothes shopping because you can really get into brighter colors and white. The shoppe is full of fun colors, it is a real change of pace from winter. So fun to get to dress for warmer weather with tank tops and shorts. Hair up more often means always having earrings in which is also super fun to shop for too.

Hello April!!

 

Hi all!  Shoppe Gal Cecile here.  It’s finally Spring and all I can think about is warm sunshine, porch sitting, flip flops, and comfy T-shirts.  Going out to eat….outside, craft shows, concerts and vacations.  So thankful we are able to get back outside. 

Our shoppe is so blessed to have so many amazing supporters, local and distant, to keep us going and I hope our shoppe helped you keep going as well. We are on the other side and ready to PARTY!! 🎉

Hello April!!

Yay, It's August!!

    Hey y'all! Happy August! It's Shoppe Gal Caley here, and I am so excited to tell you about some of my favorite Summer items currently in the Shoppe! 🌞💗 I also wanted to let our wonderful customers know that we absolutely love to see them downtown on these hot Summer days!

One thing I love about Summer at The Doodling Bug is the absolutely adorable clothing that we sell! One of my favorite items currently is the "Smocking Hot Top." This item is totally cute, and perfect for all of your plans before school starts! 

Another exciting aspect of the month of August is Back to School!! All of our cute clothes and necklaces are perfect for new school outfits, and we have the cutest vinyl stickers for laptops and water bottles! Our North Carolina stickers are especially perfect for students going out of state for college and are in need of a super cute reminder of home!

The new jewelry we have in stock at the Shoppe is my absolute favorite thing customers have been buying recently. There are such fun and unique pieces that are perfect to spice up any outfit! Our assortment of fun earrings and gorgeous necklaces will blow your mind!

April Showers Turning into Sunshine

Shoppe Gal Bella here and I’m here to remind you that it’s April Doodle Bugs!! The nicer weather is starting to come, along with the colorful flowers and trees. Personally, I think a little sunshine is what we’ve all been needing lately. For lots of you right now it’s also Spring Break and almost Easter weekend which means... vacation! 

The Shoppe is currently filled with tons of new, spring products that will be sure to make you smile and wish for summer. From adorable babydoll sundresses to stylish jewelry and so many other new items.  You’re going to want to come visit us and see everything. Whether you just want to do some Spring shopping or need a super cute outfit for Easter, you have to come check out our new clothes!

With the sun finally coming out more, we have longer warmer days and there are so many great outdoor activities around Apex you can try. A few of my personal favorites are walking the downtown strip and shopping through all the shops, getting an iced coffee and taking pictures throughout the town with my friends, and having a picnic at one of the many parks.

April Showers Turning into Sunshine

Love Is In The Air

 

Happy February Y'all! Shoppe Gal Caley here!

It's the month in which we celebrate LOVE and all of the amazing products that we have at The Doodling Bug for you to fall in love with! 

What are your plans for the month and how are you showing those you love how much they mean to you? One fun way is to leave a loved one a sweet note each morning for them to find before they head to work or school. It's a thoughtful way to show that you care and to remind them to have a happy day.  Another fun Valentine's month activity is to plan a special meal for your family or partner. You can plan a Valentine's-themed meal with a heart-shaped pizza and fun red drinks!

To accompany the fun that you're planning at your home you can incorporate some of our fun household products such as our line of dishtowels that have some pretty hilarious messages on them. Salsa anyone?! If you feel like getting cozy in this chilly weather, I suggest checking out our Be My Valentine Blush sweater and our Striped in Love sweater. Love Is In The Air

Happy November!   Shoppe Gal Katie here!   Us Shoppe Gals at The Doodling Bug hope that you are happy and well.   It has definitely been a trying time with Covid-19 but we have so much to be thankful for!   We are thankful for each and everyone of you!

Hello March

Hi shoppers!  We are approaching one of my favorite months for a few reasons.  I love March, because the weather finally starts to get warmer, flowers start to bloom and it's my birthday month!

Spring always has the prettiest weather to enjoy the outdoors. With warmer days to come, it's a perfect time to walk around Downtown Apex and come to visit us at The Doodling Bug!

With Spring being right around the corner, we have you covered with a bunch of cute Spring pieces!  We have a multitude of graphic tees perfect for warm weather.  We also have super cute flower rings that will put you right in the Spring mood.  With the season approaching we will have even more items to fulfill your Spring shopping, so we would love to see you!

Hello March

Fabulous February

Hello Doodling Bug shoppers! February is here! I absolutely love that during this chilly month we are given an extra day of 2020! This month may be cold, but it is also super fantastic and filled with love! We have so many fun and fabulous products in the Shoppe that you will not want to miss!

February in North Carolina is generally pretty cold with even a few snow days thrown in. We have a wide assortment of adorable beanies that are perfect for this Winter season. I bought my sister one of the Blue Thermal Lining Cable Knit Beanies and she absolutely adores it (and looks adorable too)! These beanies are a fun fashion statement, as well as a great way to keep your head warm!

My favorite products that we have right now are the new fabulous flower rings in small, medium and large. I absolutely love the variety of vibrant colors that we have in stock for you to purchase. The display is super fun with the small rings organized to reflect a colorful rainbow. The larger rings are a brand new item in the store and they are a super cute gift to treat yourself or your gals!

Fabulous February

Welcome to 2020 Glitter Bugs!

New Beginnings

There have been a lot of "new" and exciting things happening for me and my little family since relocating here from Upstate, N.Y., in 2017.  Along with buying a "new-to-us" home, making new friends, enrolling the teens in a new school and consuming large amounts of Southern cuisine that's new to us, I also became a new Shoppe Gal in October of 2019!

The Doodling Bug has become such a blessing for me and my family!  I had been searching for a perfect fit and I was starting to feel defeated as time went on.  That all changed the moment that I walked into The Doodling Bug.  I could barely contain my excitement as I looked around and felt that "ah-ha!" moment.  I noticed the perfectly decorated shoppe window, as I passed it on my way inside.  Then, my eyes were drawn to the wooden plank ceiling, down the creative displays along the walls and cupboards, and on to all of the fanciful goodies on the shelves and beautiful clothing on the racks.  Immediately, I got the feeling that I was invited to a festive party and I couldn't help but feel happy spending time there.

My favorite part about being a Shoppe Gal? Getting to personally greet folks as they enter the shoppe and chat with them while they visit.  I've met people from Australia, Japan and from many various places right here in the U.S. as well.  I truly enjoy getting to know a little about everyone and hearing about their plans for the week.  A little bonus for me is when K9 friends pop in for a cookie.  The Shoppe is dog-friendly, so fur visits are always welcome!

I'm really looking forward to welcoming the "new" 20's, with all of you!  My wish for all of you is for health, happiness, success, and lots of "new" and wonderful things to fill your lives.

Welcome to 2020 Glitter Bugs!

Welcome December

Happy December, Glitter Bugs!! I'm so excited to welcome December. The Winter is upon us and the holidays are here. The colorful leaves are still falling and giving us our last few weeks of Autumn. Enjoy it!

The shoppe has been buzzing with so many visitors this time of year. I have met people from Spain, Israel, Australia, so many from New York and New Jersey, Indiana, Florida, Texas, California and so, so many other states too! I love to see your smiling faces and hearing about the towns you are from. It's especially fun when you come in to purchase mementos to take back home with you from our sweet little shoppe.

This month, Downtown Apex will have a wonderful night of Christmas Carols and Christmas Tree Lighting on Friday, December 6th starting at 5:00 pm.

Don't forget to come and look for all of the Shoppe Gals and their helpers in the Apex Christmas Parade on December 7th starting at 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Come early and find your spot to watch this wonderful night parade. Downtown Apex will be full of excitement and cheer. The shoppe will be open both days that weekend until 8:00 pm. Well, every Friday and Saturday.  :)

What are your favorite things to look forward to in December? I love the frost on the trees and the Cardinals all puffed up and perching in their bright shades of red. I also love friends and family all gathering together for fun festivities and spending time together this time of year. Walking in Downtown Apex enjoying a meal and strolling the shops.

The shoppe is filled with all kinds of pretties this time of year for your holiday shopping, ornament exchanges, white elephant gifts, stocking stuffers, and always something cozy to wrap up in. Don't forget to stop in for something to dress up your outfit for that special occasion or just a fun day out on the town. We have something for everyone!

Welcome December

Thankful For Y'all

 Happy November y'all, we are so thankful for you!  This month is all about reminding those around you how much you appreciate them.  October was amazing and I am so glad it's finally starting to feel like Fall.  This month I'm most excited for Thanksgiving dinner and sweet potato casserole!  I'm thankful to have family coming in town for Thanksgiving and I can't wait to spend time with them.  Not often do we all get to be under the same roof.

The shoppe continues to change and be more fabulous everyday.  We know it's getting colder out, but we have you covered with the cutest Fall arrivals.  We have colorful and reversible ruanas, fluffy sweatshirts and so much more.  You can dress them up with our cute beanies and some jewelry.  November has plenty of opportunities to get into the shoppe and grab these goodies.

Everybody's favorite day comes right after Thanksgiving... PINK Friday!!  Get your Christmas shopping started and walk off your Thanksgiving meals through Downtown Apex on Friday, November 29th.  You should even grab a little something for yourself. 

We continue the fun on Small Business Saturday, which is November 30th.  We love being a small business in Downtown Apex and are extremely thankful for our lovely customers.  Come spend some time with us!!

Thankful For Y'all

Happy Summer, from Shoppe Gal Kathleen!

Happy Summer, Glitter Bugs! I hope that everyone is enjoying their Summer. I know it has been a hot one, but we will survive! Haha!! Especially when we have pools to play in, lakes to cool off while floating and boating and our beautiful beaches to visit. Well, you have to admit, a little AC doesn't hurt either.  ;)

The shoppe has been so fun this Summer. We have revamped the sales floor several times with all of our new pretties that we get each week. I can't wait for you all to see it, if you haven't already. It seems to be just sparkling more than ever!

We have been serving free lemonade to our customers all Summer. Especially on those hot days when you have friends and family in town and are showing them our wonderful Historic Downtown Apex. It's so great when you stop in, do a little shopping, have some cool lemonade and we get to chat for a little while. It really makes my day!

I have met so many wonderful customers this summer from all over the world. I love hearing your stories and learning about where you are from while you pin our "Where are y'all visiting from?" map. The pins are getting more and more abundant each week. It's super cool to see them all shine.

I know this sounds crazy, but towards the end of last month we even started putting out our Fall products. They are selling like hotcakes. I know, I know, you don't want to think about the cool Fall weather yet, but it's upon us and it's never too early to prepare and pick up something that catches your eye instead of later when it may be gone. I know I do it. If I have to have it, then it's a done deal. I know most of you feel the same.
